Anderson View Profile View Posts. I finished the game once, but I'm interested in a pacifist playthrough as much as possible.

I accidentally aggroed the thieves and killed them but that was the only part I regret doing I think. I'm also curious if siding with a faction prevents me from rejoining the same faction if I "betray" them and go with another faction?

Is that possible or do they reject me permanently? Originally posted by Anderson :. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 3 Jan, pm. Posts: Discussions Rules and Guidelines.

Classes' lvl up progression. If you double-specialise as a Thief, you will have to miss out on the potentially massive Strength boost conferred by Fighter specialisation at level 7, although you can use a Tattoo of Might with 18 Strength to make up for it. Certain individuals allow you to switch your class to Thief.

To unlock the Thief class, you must be trained by Ratbone first. Unlike Fighter and Thief characters, Mage characters don't stop growing more powerful at level 13 since the number of spells they can cast increases, they gain access to higher level spells and spells that have a per caster-level effect grow more powerful. This comes at a cost of significantly slower character progression: 14 Mage levels has the same cost as 17 Thief levels. The Mage specialisation bonus is, in effect, a single stat point, which is not as good as 1 Luck and certainly not as good as grand-master weapon proficiency.

One non-obvious benefit of level 12 Mage is the ability to use a late game item called the Ancient Scroll which, among other possibilities, can give you 2 additional stat points. It's not worth levelling up to 12 for this alone, but is a solid bonus if your character is primarily a Mage. As a Mage gains class levels, the number of spell levels that he has access to steadily increases alongside the number of spells of a given level that he can cast per day.

Note that you are unlikely to get the opportunity to cast level 8 and 9 spells before the final dungeon where certain choices can allow you to go up multiple levels in one go. Since some of the animations take up to 90 seconds, you may not want to cast them too often either! There are two trophies associated with the Mage class: Call of the Art for training as a Mage and Master of the Art for reaching level 12 Mage before any other class.

Certain individuals allow you to switch your class to Mage. To unlock the Mage class, you must be trained by Mebbeth first. Log In Sign Up. This spell system depends a lot on the ability to be able to rest often. This game does not have an abundance of resting areas. I just hate the memorization system. It makes no sense whatsoever to me. The lack of places to rest, I know I've already mentioned it but I'll say it again. If you find yourself in a situation where TNO is alone, such as in the Fortress, your spells won't last you very long at all and after they're gone, you're defenseless.

The inability to use the really devastating spells until the VERY end. Unless you hack and give yourself a gazillion xp, but with hacking, you can make any class become powerful. The amount of enhancement items fighters get.

Just pay attention and count up how many weapons, tattoos, and jewelry there are for fighters versus for mages.
